John Verhagen - Sitting on a Bench
John Verhagen - Sitting on a Bench
Signed on the foot.
This refined bronze sculpture by John Verhagen depicts a figure sitting relaxed on a bench, with a pose that exudes both elegance and lightness. The slender forms and delicate modeling give the work a poetic, almost dreamlike quality, as if the figure has drifted off into a moment of peace or quiet contemplation. The crossed legs and the subtly forward gaze subtly reinforce this sense of introspection.
The rough texture of the bronze allows light to move playfully and layered across its surface, clearly revealing Verhagen's handiwork. The soft greenish patina adds depth, serenity, and warmth to the sculpture. The dark natural stone base forms a strong and elegant foundation, giving the piece an almost museum-like appearance.
This sculpture is an understated yet characterful work of art that combines tranquility, grace, and timeless beauty. It fits effortlessly into both modern and classic interiors and will immediately appeal to lovers of refined figurative bronze.
